Adult Outpatient Program

Libertas’s outpatient program offers counseling, education and group treatment for someone with substance use disorder as well as family members affected by substance use. Libertas offers two approaches to outpatient treatment – group and individual – with multiple levels of care.

Group Treatment

The goal of group treatment is to provide adults peer support in positive and safe environment with a counselor. Libertas uses treatment models that respect each adult’s need for independence, focuses on their unique strengths, clearly defines expectations and encourages meaningful participation. The number of weeks is based on individual need, and each level of group treatment includes individual substance use counseling.

Day Treatment
If the assessment shows someone would benefit from a higher level of care than intensive outpatient, day treatment is offered 4 days a week. This program is medically and evidenced-based and includes:
  • Physician supervision
  • Individual counseling
  • Group therapy and education
  • Family counseling and education with the patient

Intensive Outpatient Program
Intensive outpatient provides individuals with a structured level of care 3 days a week. Daytime and evening sessions are available. This program is medically and evidenced-based and includes:

  • Physician supervision
  • Individual counseling
  • Group therapy and education
  • Family counseling and education with the patient
Continuing Care Program
After completing intensive outpatient treatment, Libertas recommends adults participate in continuing care. Continuing care program is less intense group meeting once a week designed to enhance an individual’s road to maintaining recovery. This group provides education and focuses on connecting patients with community resources like support groups. Daytime and evening sessions are available.

Early Intervention Program
Early intervention program meets once a week and is designed for individuals who may benefit from a lower level of treatment. Here, we explore the differences between alcohol and drug use, misuse and addiction, and where patients are at in relation to each. Patients are then assisted in developing a personal change plan.

Individual Treatment

With individual treatment, the number of sessions is based on each person’s need.

Substance use counseling
Individual substance use counseling is a one-on-one session with a Libertas counselor, designed for people who are not comfortable in a group setting and who may benefit from a more private setting.

Telemedicine
Through the use of video screens, patients in Oconto, Florence, Marinette, Menominee and Shawano Counties are connected with Libertas Treatment Center in Marinette in order to locally access counseling, doctor visits and case management support.
